Well I've spent a good portion of my day bug fixing and managed to stumble upon some fairly huge ones. One in particular wouldn't let you save or publish posts and pages. Little did I realize WordPress use a hidden field called 'action' which was being broken by a hidden field in the Flickr Manager panel called 'action'. Another bug I found was that the AJAX script I wrote wasn't functioning properly under IE because it seems to parse links differently when compared to Firefox.
So anyway I've issued a new version '1.2.0' release of my WordPress Flickr Manager on the WordPress extend page. If you're experiencing issues with the plugin please upgrade to the latest version. If you've noticed anything buggy about the new version I'd really appreciate it if you let me know.

Trent - thanks for putting so much effort into this. Your bug fixes seem to have done the trick, things are working now for me and hopefully for others.
I have some feedback and a feature suggestion, if you’re interested. I really like the way you have set up your plugin, the manage tab and epecially the ability to upload directly to flickr are great, and maybe even unique features in the WP/Flickr plugin universe. I’ve probably used 5 or 6 flickr/wp plugins at this point, but I’ve never seen one that allowed direct uploads.
But, I’m not quite as crazy about the way the drag and drop insertion works. With larger images, it starts to get a bit awkward, and you have fewer images to choose from because they take up so much room. Have you taken a look at the Slickr Gallery plugin? Their image insertion method strikes me as very intuitive.
Additionally, Flickr TOS requires a link back to their page when you use an image hosted on their server. Most plugins do this by making the photo a link, or adding in a title and link directly below the photo.
Anyway, like I said, just some ideas, I think your plugin is great.

thanks for your help and feedback, it’s greatly appreciated.
I’ll take a look at Slickr today at some point and see what it’s like. I’m always looking for new ideas so please don’t hesitate if you’ve got anymore.
As for the Flickr TOS requiring a link back to their page, you’re absolutely right, I forgot about it for the drag-drop panel I’ll update it and roll it out with the next update.
If you insert an image using the [img:<flickr-id>,<size>] that will wrap the image in a link and a div block with a unique id.

I have authorised the application, and I can see the images under the “Manage” > “Flickr” area.
However, when I edit/create a new post…
Under the upload | browse is reads :
“Unauthorized Access”
Any thing I can do to fix that at my end?

Re-download it off the Wordpress Extend page.
That will fix your problem. Obviously your user account isn’t very privileged so I lowered the minimum to level 2.

I downloaded the flickr-manager and I’m not able to visibly see the pictures on the “write post” section. If I hover, it tells me which picture it is, and I can go forward/back, but am not able to visibly see the picture.

have you authenticated your account in the ‘Options->Flickr’ page and completed step 1 and 2, if you’ve completed this successfully your account details should have been loaded. Also what happens when you go to the ‘Manage->Flickr’ page?

Hi Trent,
pretty fine plugin!
My problem: “Browse Photos” -> walk through the pic pages, I change the pic size -> automatic jump to first page. If I change the pic size on the first page and walk then to the next page -> display goes back to thumnail size. So I can only put the first 5 pics in other size than thumbnail.
Q#1: Including pic from “Browse Photos” works with “drag & drop”?! So I only have the photo in, but no link to flickr.
Q#2: Lightbox support?

Thanks Wolfgang for bringing that to my attention. I’m currently on a break over xmas and new years, but I’ll be sure to patch that up when I get back to work. Look to an update just after the new years.
This is currently being addressed in the development version at the moment and will be rolled out with the next update.
You’re not the first to suggest this, so I’m going to look into this.

Hey Trent,
I’ve been using your plugin, and just had a quick suggestion:
When browsing pics in a page/post through the Flickr Manager control, it gets tedious for me to keep clicking ‘next page’ to see more pics. I would like to either see more images per page, or be able to set the amount of images displayed per page myself.
Wondering if this is possible? Thanks for a great, well written plugin.

Just letting you know that the non-beta release of 1.4.0 now has a ‘Optional Settings’ section that allows you to set how many photos per page.
